One evening on the beach I lost myself in the creeping darkness of dusk. 
 
Alone, swirling in a sea of despair I cried out for help. My physical pain and black emotions were drowning me. I needed help but there was no one to guide me. 
 
I wandered aimlessly, staring down at my lonely footsteps. As my dark thoughts crept in all around me, the setting sun briefly set the sky on fire, and at last I glanced up to see an incredible angelic presence towering above me, leading the way. 
 
I was reminded of “Genesis 1:2 And the Earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep: and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” 
 
I returned home to my sanity and spirit, inspired to create from the darkness, the void, something new, this painting, knowing I wasn’t alone.
